Where to start, I'm Eileen's daughter, Erin. Eileen was born in Syracuse, NY - January 19, 1931. She had six brothers. She is survived by five of her brothers and her mother. My dear grandmother, Ida Sullivan, lives in Central Square, NY and is 90 years young (youngest when she is at a good Bingo game, don't get in her way). I'm sure my mom's mother and her brothers have some good stories about growing up. I will be hearing from them and adding them as I get them.
Eileen married my dad, Theophylius Author Crosby, on October 16th, 1950. Unfortunately my dad died April 2nd, 1973. He was 48 years young. My mom never remarried. I know it sounds sad, and it was, but we had a very happy and full life. She missed him very much until the day she died. They are buried side by side now.
There are so many wonderful stories. I can honestly say I'm very glad the "Good Irish Faries" let me be born to two such wonderful people and I was able to have them as long as I did. I admit that longer would have been nicer.
I'll start with the story about how my mom and dad met. According to them, my dad was going door to door selling china while attending Syracuse University. In a diary from 1951 she admits it was "the Good Irish Fairies" that brought him to her door. Her brothers can fill me in on how many times he came back and how they teased her.The Good Irish FariesMy father was in World War II and the Korean War. Before going off to war my mom and my fathers parents bought him a diary to take. She and his parents filled some pages out before giving it to him. On the page for February 7th, 1951 she had written a note to him. The note said "sure an I'm glad the good Irish fairies brought you to my door 1 yr ago today." |

Just one more,
Just one more day, if not then -
Just one more hour, if not then -
Just one more minute, if not then -
Just one more hug, if not then -
Just one more smile.
